The 2020 Results, in the 2023 constituencies

Upon release of the Electoral Commission’s constituency boundary recommendations, Ireland Votes has compiled the results and tallies of the 2020 election to visualise the performance of parties in the new boundaries.

SF is the largest party in 15 constituencies: Cavan-Monaghan (36.8%); Donegal (45.1%); Dublin Bay North (29.3%); Dublin Central (35.7%); Dublin Fingal West (29.6%); Dublin Mid-West (43.4%); Dublin North-West (42.8%); Dublin South Central (42.5%); Dublin South-West (27.2%); Dublin West (28.4%); Laois (31.0%); Louth (41.9%); Meath West (29.6%); Waterford (38.3%); and Wicklow-Wexford (28.1%).

FF is the largest party in 15 constituencies: Carlow-Kilkenny (36.9%); Clare (34.0%); Cork East (27.7%); Cork North-Central (24.8%); Cork North-West (40.1%); Cork South-Central (34.6%); Dublin Fingal East (26.2%); Galway West (22.7%); Kildare North (26.2%); Kildare South (21.4%); Limerick City (25.6%); Longford-Westmeath (30.4%); Offaly (34.0%); Sligo-Letrim (26.9%); and Wexford (24.4%).

FG is the largest party in 8 constituencies: Dublin Bay South (28.0%); Dublin Rathdown (32.9%); Dún Laoghaire (32.2%); Galway East (26.5%); Limerick County (32.6%); Mayo (39.3%); Meath East (27.6%); and Wicklow (26.8%)

An Independent candidate won the most first preference votes in Cork South-West (FF second), Kerry (FF second), Roscommon-Galway (SF second), Tipperary North (FF second), and Tipperary South (FG second).

The results in the new constituencies

These notional results were compiled using a combination of actual 2020 election first preference votes and individual electoral division tallies. There may be small inaccuracies in final % results due to some incomplete tally data. An interactive map will be available in the due course.
